About - Mike Soul

London born Mike Soul's name derived from his soulful gospel sounding vocals. Mike Soul is making waves as a multi-talented artist with an acoustic style and soulful sound, with many comparing him to the likes of Stevie Wonder and John Legend.

From the tender age of 8 years, Mike's musical roots were established within the church. He was around 13 when he started playing the piano and by 15 his first professional experience of singing in Timothy Wright's UK Gospel project forming the London fellowship Gospel choir; who had supported popular acts such as the Clarke Sisters and Dawkins & Dawkins.

When the choir disbanded Mike found himself taking his musical talents outside of the church setting as he had not yet given his life to the Lord, he began writing songs for himself and was invited alongside other artists including rapper T.I's production team. As well as backing vocals for artists such as Leona Lewis, Shayne Ward and household band Westlife to name a few.

Highlights of his then music career was releasing singles with distribution under a major subsidiary along with several videos amassing over 100k views and gaining numerous fans on social media. He sang at Hackney Empire (291 Variety Show) and the popular Cobden Club (Westbourne Park). He had also performed at EA GAMES sponsored In the City – Manchester, Urban favourite CARGO London and the renowned Jazz Café where he claimed the premier spot as winner of Xpressions competition 2007 and headlining his debut single at The Hoxton.

He was hailed as UK's answer to Babyface, Curtis Richa (multi-platinum songwriter/producer, written for Craig David, Rihanna and Joss Stone) quoted on Myspace "Love your vocals and music. 5 stars – keep it up and you will go far".

Mike had airplay on numerous US radio stations including WBLS-FM in New York. There also included UK radio stations such as the BBC, Deja Vu, Rinse FM to name a few...while co-written song I Need Love featured in hit film sequel Adulthood and even commissioned to write a song for a James Bond movie!

His track Touch the Sky charted on US airplay Top 100 new Pop releases and stood up against the likes of major artists Adele, Chris Brown, Jay Z in the Top 40 Rhythmic (CHR/Rhythmic).

During this part of his life he still visited church and played as a session pianist/keyboardist for several churches such like New Testament Church of God (Deptford, East Dulwich), Eden Christian Centre, New Covenant Church, Dominion Centre and his home church from time to time.

He was called back to his roots praise God! And made the commitment to serve in his God given purpose and in late 2011, baptised into the faith turning his back on all that he had known in “the World”.

...Fast forward 2017, he is happily married to "Shez " with two children.

Mike is a people person who has a passion to serve always ready to encourage and uplift others with his warm personality!

He and his wife passionately spread the Word and the great commission commanded by our Lord Saviour Jesus Christ, through his music ministry and various other outlets, which also includes PhilanthropyMike also launched his Clothing Brand 'INWU' Est. 2010 and rebranded in 2014.

With up-beat soulful tracks like Put God First that touches his life experience of letting God be at the forefront of every decision to the remorseful declaration of IOU Me, describing the Messiah's incomparable suffering for our sins whilst   pays homage over thoughtful lyrics and classic 808 beats.

Mike Soul is diverse and unique in his creative style not afraid to go venture outside the box and try new things!

His much anticipated debut album #so4j was released in 2018.
